I’m obviously not going to tell you what it is, or even what country it’s from, but my great-grandfather chose an Anglicized spelling of his last name that doesn’t correspond to either the original pronunciation or the English pronunciation.

Even when I spell it out to people, they write it down wrong about 20% of the time.

My (real) first name gets butchered all the time. I’m used to it.

My first name is always spelled incorrectly. When I write it on forms I always get, “is this how you spell your name?” Oh, no, I forgot how to spell my own name dipshit. -.-
